Here we are in the last month of 2015 – not long now to Registration Day for the fourteenth Bay of Islands Sailing Week; mark the dates in your diary – 26th January, with racing from Opua Wharf over the three days, 27th - 29th Jan 2016.….

With less than a month to go, the Corinthian and professional teams are putting the finishing touches on their preparations for the 71st edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race which will start on 26 December.

Kiwi artist Amber Gabrielle Stephens has created a beautiful set of 12 Portraits featuring some of New Zealand’s most high profile summer and winter Paralympians and Para-Athletes, to showcase the depth of talent across Para-Sport in New Zealand.

Vigilance and strict observance was required on the fourth day of racing at the Para World Sailing Championships being held out of the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria in Williamstown, Melbourne, Australia.

Andrew Murdoch has finished fourth at the 2015 Finn Gold Cup missing out on a podium finish by the narrowest of margins.

In perfect conditions on Melbourne's Port Phillip, the first two races of the Para World Sailing Championship were run today by the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria in Williamstown, Melbourne, Australia. Winds were steady at around 10 knots and as cloud cover cleared all three course areas were bathed in sunshine.

 

After an excellent day on the water New Zealand’s Andrew Murdoch is well placed for a podium finish at the 2015 Finn Gold Cup which finishes tomorrow off Takapuna, Auckland.

Peter Burling and Blair Tuke have taken New Zealand’s top Award in the sport of sailing for the third consecutive year and are now among the most celebrated sailors in New Zealand.

Racing for the 2015 Finn Gold Cup continued off Takapuna as the large 75 boat fleet took to the water for day two of the six day regatta.

Conditions were light and just one race was possible in what were described as generally soft and tricky conditions.

Racing was really tight on Lake Ngaroto for the 16 competitors who attended the North Island regatta, coming from Napier, Manukau, New Plymouth , Wellington, Wairoa and Ngaroto.

Peter Burling and Blair Tuke have won the 2015 49er World Championship in Argentina today making it three consecutive world titles in the Olympic skiff class and extending their unprecedented unbeaten run to 22 victories in a row.

It was more the land of the long grey cloud than the long white cloud today as amid an atmosphere of tradition and fanfare the 2015 Finn Gold Cup was officially declared open on Takapuna Beach, New Zealand. The Rangitoro volcano provided a dramatic backdrop to a dramatic ceremony, just visible through the rain through the murk across the Hauraki Gulf.
