There are six regional yachting associations in New Zealand, and every member club of Yachting New Zealand belongs to their regional association.
Each association plays a different role in their region, but the common denominator is that they facilitate regional collaboration of our sport.
Often regional associations are involved in thing such as:
- Promoting and encouraging participation in sailing at all levels
- Regional coordination of training and racing programmes
- Liaison with local government groups
- Communication with Yachting New Zealand
- Support for major events
- Funding support
