New Zealander Peter Burling continued his near-flawless run on Day 5 of the McDougall + McConaghy 2015 International Moth World Championship being hosted by the Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club (SSCBC) in Victoria. With one day remaining to finish the World’s off, Burling showed nerves of steel and control to score a second in Race 9 and then won the remaining three races sailed in shifty south-westerly winds on Port Philip. Winds ranged from 15-20 knots with puffs over 25 in the last of the day.NewsBurling's 24th birthday McDougall + McConaghy 2015 Moth World title win

Day 2 of the Barfoot and Thompson NZ Laser Nationals provided beautiful sailing, with the sea breeze slowly building throughout the racing. The first race started in about 5 knots with the breeze building to 8-10 knots for the second race and peaked at around 12-15 knots for the third with typical choppy sea breeze waves. All divisions completed their scheduled races with 2 for the Masters and 3 for the Open fleets.NewsBullot's Day; Barfoot & Thompson NZ Laser Nationals Day 3 Report
All fleets again completed their scheduled races on the penultimate day of of the Barfoot & Thompson NZ Laser Championships at Takapuna. The sea breeze filled in earlier than on the previous two days, with a good 10 to 15 knot NE by the midday start time and pretty choppy conditions. This breeze held for the first race for all divisions but it started to ease for the second race and just held for the third before a SW change came in just as the last division finished. The course was set directly off Takapuna Beach, unlike the previous two days when we sailed further to the North. This meant that the there was a strong tidal flow across the whole course, resulting in long challenging beats against the tide.NewsMaloney Victorious at 2015 Barfoot & Thompson Laser National Champs
The Barfoot & Thompson NZ Laser Nationals concluded today with all divisions completing the scheduled two races meaning that all races for the series were completed on schedule for the first time at a Laser Nationals in several years. Todays races were held in light and very shifty SW winds with a strong tide but pretty flat water, which provided a change from the sea breeze conditions over the preceding three days.
