Royal Akarana Yacht Club hosted the winter edition of their Sail Akarana regattas over the weekend with over 50 boats entered. The weekend included Sailability Auckland’s Waller Cup, Mt Gay Rum Young 88 Two Handed Series and the first day of the RAYC Winter Series.
Three races were conducted on the Saturday in near perfect conditions however Sunday was a complete glass out for the for the Young 88s and Winter Series. The Access Liberty fleet was racing in a different area and managed to get all six races in for the regional Waller Cup Championship regatta.
The Young 88 Two Handed Series has been rescheduled for Sunday 1 July in conjunction with the RAYC Winter Series.
