    The Volvo Sailing… Have a Go! programme gives people the opportunity to experience the thrills and spills of sailing in a safe and well managed environment and most importantly, have fun! The programme has teamed up with the 2015 Auckland Volvo Ocean Race Stop Over with race village visitors having the opportunity to sail one of four Topper Omega yachts within the Race Village, and learn the basics, all for free!

  • Wellington Ocean Sports: Coastal Medic Course Announced

    A new Coastguard Coastal Medic Course has been announced for the weekend of 10 and 11 January 2015. This course has been specifically scheduled prior to the Offshore Medic Course for those that are yet to complete Coastal Medic, which is a prerequisite to the more advanced course. As well as its marine applications, this course exceeds the Health and Safety requirements of “two day workplace first aid”, so has many commercial usages.

  • Greg Wilcox leads OK World Ranking into Melbourne World Championship

    Greg Wilcox (NZL) will head into this month's World Championship in Melbourne, Australia as the OK Dinghy World No. 1 for the fourth consecutive release. Another great season from the 2002 World Champion has seen him lead the rankings for the whole of 2014, having reached the top spot this time last year. At 1035 points, he also holds the record for the highest cumulative points in the decade long history of the ranking list.
