Marseille, France is the host venue of the 2013 Seiko 49er & 49erFX World Championships. This championship has the largest attendance for the 49er since 2001, with over 96 49ers registered. The Board of Directors of the Auckland to Bluff Ocean Race have decided to postpone the inaugural sailing of the race. Since the Race was announced in December 2012, there has been considerable interest in this major new ocean race, which has been dubbed as New Zealand’s version of the ‘Sydney to Hobart’ race.

The Peter Burling led NZL Sailing Team with ETNZ has won the inaugural Red Bull Youth America’s Cup while Will Tiller and FMJ Racing have placed 2nd making it a kiwi double in San Francisco.
The NZL Sailing Team with ETNZ, sponsored by Rodd & Gunn, made a clean sweep with two race wins on day three of the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup breaking away from the pack and opening an 11 point lead in the standings.
