This week marks two years since the final stages of the Louis Vuitton Cup round robin in San Francisco in 2013.

A long time between races by any stretch of an America’s Cup cycle. There have been many changes in that time for Emirates Team New Zealand, the obvious one being the new look sailing team for the first Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in Portsmouth. A mix of invaluable experience in Glenn Ashby and Ray Davies, and the four new faces to appear under the large red Emirates wing sail are Guy Endean, Harry Thurston, Blair Tuke and Peter Burling who bring a new approach to America’s Cup racing instinctive, intuitive and fearless.

All change on day 2 at the 2015 420 World Championships in Castle Bay Karatsu, Japan, with two races now completed for all fleets, helping the programme recover a bit from yesterday’s disarray after the effects of last week’s passing typhoon.

The RNZYS is pleased to announce this year’s team to attend the 49th Governor’s Cup Regatta is Leonard Fry (helm), George Anyon (main), Logan Andresen (bow) with Coach/Training Manager Guy Pilkington.

Starting on Thursday, this annual youth match racing regatta is held at the Balboa Yacht Club, California and is the first International event for this year’s Youth Training Programme squad.

Qualifying at the 2015 49er and 49erFX European Championships is now complete for both the men’s and women’s fleets, so Friday sees the start of Gold Fleet finals. The forecast is for better breeze, and you can watch all the action on the live TV broadcast which is scheduled for the start of racing on Friday at 1030am local time in Portugal or 2130 New Zealand time.

New Zealand’s mixed multihull pair Gemma Jones and Jason Saunders have climbed to 5th overall on day four of the 2015 Nacra 17 World Championships on in Aarhus, Denmark.

New Zealand has wrapped up the 2015 Laser World Championships with an excellent final day in Kingston, Canada to take two top seven places in the hard fought, seven day regatta.

Returning to the waters of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, entries are now open for the fifth and final stop of qualification to the centrepiece final in Abu Dhabi (UAE), 26-30 November.

Yachting New Zealand has published the Selection Regulations for the 2015 NZL Yachting Trust Youth Team to attend the ISAF Youth World Sailing Championships.

The sun rose, sailors rigged, and the 2015 49er & 49erFX European Championship started on time under blue skies, light winds, and fair swell.  Two fleet of the worlds best skiff sailors took to the water to compete in the 49erFX, with the men’s 49er scheduled to start tomorrow.

Jo Aleh/Polly Powrie (NZL) secured the 470 Women Open European Championship yesterday. Today Stuart McNay/David Hughes (USA) wrapped up the 470 Men Open title.

Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie are now officially 2015 Open 470 Women’s European Champions after the six day regatta wrapped up in Aarhus, Denmark today with a light wind medal race.
