Job Opportunity: Membership Card Project Coordinator

Yachting New Zealand (YNZ) is the National Sports Body in New Zealand for the sport of sailing.  We are a non profit organisation of approximately 20 employees and 250+ member clubs, classes and organisations.  Our vision is “helping New Zealanders access, enjoy and succeed on the water for life.”  We are seeking a Membership Card Project Coordinator to join our dedicated team to manage the rollout of our new membership card progamme across our clubs.   

Reporting to the Communications Manager and working closely with the Commercial Manager, and Participation and Development Manager, the Membership Card Project Coordinator will be responsible for the development of the Member Card.  This includes maintenance of the Yachting New Zealand  database, a discount app, a physical membership card, and communications relating to this project.  While full support will be provided, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with initiative and drive to take on an exciting project and own it.  

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an extensive digital background, with experience in using a variety of software including a CRM (Preferably Oracle), CMS and Microsoft Office products (especially Excel and Outlook).  Exceptional attention to detail and accurate data entry skills are an absolute must.  We also need a good project manager, who is resourceful with savvy interpersonal skills that enable effective communication with our members and partners. 

Ideally, we’d love someone who has experience with membership management, and have coordinated a similar project.  Having a connection with sailing would be an obvious advantage, however a general interest in a club-based sporting or recreational activity would also assist.  Really it’s about understanding our world and being able to relate to our members that is key.

The role will be on a 6 month fixed term contract and involve approximately 15 hours of work per week, from the Yachting New Zealand offices in Takapuna. Actual days and hours of work are flexible within normal business hours and will be negotiated to suit the successful candidate.  We are looking for someone to start ASAP, so if you’re interested get in quick!
