Competitive keelboat racing can be a tough world to break into and, as the 20th edition of Bay of Islands Sailing Week kicks off today, it's promising to see novice crews making their debut alongside the old-timers. 

Glen and Beverly Church of Stewarts Gully Sailing Club received their Yachting New Zealand Service Award in a special presentation held at their club this month. 

The first entries have been received for the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC), and Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) hosted inaugural Sydney to Auckland Ocean Race, due to start on Saturday, 7 October 2023, at 1pm.  

An initiative for newcomers to the ILCA6 National Championships has seen fleet numbers soar with a strong showing of female and youth sailors competing in the Hauraki Gulf this week.
