NSC Winter Sailing is underway.

The growth and development of the OK Dinghy class worldwide features highly in the brand new international class magazine, which was re-launched in May 2015 after a 40 year hiatus.

The Tauranga Yacht & Powerboat Club has two coaching positions available for the 2015-16 season… 

In early June Clubs in the South Island will come together in Christchurch for a South Island Regional Meeting.  Clubs are invited to send up to two representatives; suggestion is the Racing Secretary and a Flag Officer.

Yachting New Zealand is looking for someone to join the Participation and Development Team helping New Zealanders access, enjoy and succeed on the water for life.

The New Zealand Team Sailing Association is seeking expressions of interest from any clubs who may wish to host and assist in running the Secondary Schools Team Sailing Nationals in 2017.

The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) is to campaign for Disabled Sailing's inclusion in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and has appointed VERO Communications to advise and support its campaign.  The decision to press the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to add Disabled Sailing to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games comes on the back of ISAF formally taking over the management of Disabled Sailing in November 2014, and the integration of the International Association for Disabled Sailing (IFDS) into ISAF.

Yachting New Zealand will be running a series of Race Officials Seminars throughout the country during winter 2015.  These seminars are an important part of upskilling Race Officials within our clubs and mainating fair racing.

The NZL Sailing Team has won three medals at 2015 Delta Lloyd Regatta for Olympic and Paralympic classes which wrapped overnight in Medemblik, the Netherlands.

Marcus Hansen and Josh Porebski (pictured Sander van der Borch) secured silver in the 49er skiff, Josh Junior taking bronze in the Finn and New Zealand’s Nacra 17 pair Gemma Jones and Jason Saunders also took bronze.

Maritime VHF Operators Course @ Weiti Boating Club. Thursday 18 & 25 June from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.  This course is a must for anyone that takes part in boating, find out how to use a VHF correctly, what to do in an emergency and other handy bits and pieces. For more information, please contact Katie on 424 5905 or weiti@xtra.co.nz

The 31st edition of the Delta Lloyd Regatta is very popular in the sailingworld. Over 700 boats will be in Medemblik on the water from 26th to 30th May. Competitors from 74 different nationalities travelled to the Dutch town to compete the next five days in the ten Olympic and three Paralympic classes.

Sam Bacon was the winner of the 2015 Optimist National Championships, Sam had already finished 2nd in the same regatta last year, he has competed in the Optimist Worlds in 2014 and will be travelling to Poland for the Worlds in 2015. Sam sails out of Worser Bay Boating Club in Wellington.

For the first time this week, Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) has taken the lead at the Finn European Championships in Split, Croatia. Josh Junior (CRO) has dropped to second while Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) remains in third but has considerably closed the gap on the two leaders. Race wins on Saturday went to Giorgio Poggi (ITA) and Jake Lilley (AUS).

Ian Vickers consolidated his 4th position with a 2nd in the final race of the IOM World Championships at Foster City Sunday morning (NZ time). He'd had a race win earlier in the day.

Josh Junior (NZL) has reclaimed the lead at the Finn European Championship in Split, Croatia after three tough races in winds from 18-24 knots. Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) had the best day to climb up to second, while Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) staged a comeback to climb from 15th to third. Race wins went to Ed Wright (GBR), Junior and Deniss Karpak (EST).

Arkadiy Kistanov (RUS) has taken the lead on the second day at the Finn European Championship in Split, Croatia, after only one late race was sailed in light winds. Andrew Murdoch (NZL) took the race win from Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) and Ioannis Mitakis (GRE), who moves up to second overall, with Ed Wright (GBR) up to third overall.
