Fuelling champions: Yachting NZ, Radix Nutrition join forces

Issue date

New Zealand’s leading sailors will receive a boost in their quest for medals at next month’s Olympic test event and beyond with the announcement of a new partnership between Yachting New Zealand and Radix Nutrition.

As part of the agreement, Radix Nutrition will become Yachting New Zealand’s official nutrition partner - helping to fuel the NZL Sailing Team at the all-important regatta in Marseille and other major competitions with their wide range of nutritional meals and drinks, unrivalled in its quality and taste.

Founded in 2013, Radix is a New Zealand nutrition company at the forefront of maximising human performance through health. It has quickly grown into an industry leader through its commitment to innovation, science-backed research, ingredient quality and transparency.

Their product range includes breakfasts and meals, protein powders, and recovery smoothie powders that are designed to provide the body’s metabolism with the nutrients it needs to perform at its peak - whether you’re campaigning for the Olympic Games, cruising offshore or simply in need of a fast and healthy meal during a busy day.

Radix is the official new nutrition partner of Yachting New Zealand.

"We’re proud to announce our partnership with Yachting New Zealand,” said Mike Rudling, founder and CEO of Radix Nutrition.

“This partnership further demonstrates Radix’s commitment to strengthening the capabilities of world-class athletes and sport. With yachting, a sport where New Zealand excels and where athletes can be out on the water for long periods of time, our advanced meal and protein products will ensure that they perform at their best, whenever and wherever they are.

“This partnership will also serve as a testing ground for our future personalised nutrition capabilities, improving the metabolic health and performance of each individual athlete.”

Yachting New Zealand High Performance Director Ian Stewart said the optimal nutrition and ultimate convenience Radix offers appeals in an environment where dietary requirements can be compromised by several hours spent training and competing.

“Sailing is one of the unique sports where competition is five or six days long with high consequence placed on the last day of competition or the medal race," said Stewart.

“Nutrition, refuelling, and being as sharp as you can be is significant. Aligning with Radix with their accuracy, the science of nutrition and their efficiency – it all just makes a whole lot of sense.”

The partnership also extends beyond Yachting New Zealand's top-tier athletes and teams to supporting clubs and members through an affiliate and referral scheme.

Radix products are also particularly suited to offshore racing and cruising where access to good nutrition is sometimes difficult.

The Radix range of breakfasts and meals include the Original Range, Ultra Range, Keto Range and Low Fodmap Range and are nutritionally complete with high protein, fibre, no added sugar and 30+ vitamins and minerals - perfect for saving time and fuelling a busy athlete lifestyle.

Radix Protein Powders are scientifically formulated to provide a complete amino acid profile with exceptionally high bioavailability - the best solution for building muscle and aiding recovery.

Radix Recovery Smoothie powders are designed with their most advanced protein powders and micronutrient-dense superfoods for the ultimate post-workout nutrition.
