2021 National Race Management Seminar - Auckland

Race Management Seminar- 18th & 19th September 2021
Richmond Yacht Club

Race management seminars aim to provide the knowledge and skills required to ensure quality, consistent and fair race management for sailors. They are targeted at anyone interested in learning or improving the knowledge and skills required to undertake any of the on the water duties to run round the buoys type yacht races.

In light of the on-line learning available for prospective club race officers the race management seminars will now concentrate on Club Race Officers wishing to step up to become National Race Officers and the revalidation of existing National Race Officers. Topics will always include:

- What happens before the event, RRS, NOR and SIs and organisation

- Course selection, aides to laying courses

- Startling races

- Decisions during the race

- Finishing and post race tasks.

It is expected that attendees will be familiar with running races and have their own experiences to share.  The seminar will give opportunities to reflect on existing practices, share ideas and to develop policies so there is consistent practice around the country for the benefit of our sailors.

The conclusion of the seminar will be a test. A requirement for NRO status and revalidation.

There is no cost to attend the seminar for affiliated club members. Log in to the Yachting NZ website to sign up for the course below.
