  • This year the southern (if you are a North Islander) OK stronghold of Worser Bay played host to the New Zealand OK Nationals. Held over Easter, fleet numbers were slightly down on previous years, however all the leading contenders for the title were all still present and making their presence known around the compound.

  • The Yacht Club Cagliari and the famous Poetto Beach will be again at center stage of the kiteboarding world, hosting the Master and Junior World Championship Race from May 12th until May 18th.

  • The NZL Sailing Team has ended ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres with a four medal haul including two golds and two silvers with a further two sailors finishing just outside the medals in fourth. Overall victories came from New Zealand’s London Olympic medallists, Peter Burling and Blair Tuke (49er), and Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie (Women’s 470) who have both secured back to back gold medals at ISAF Sailing World Cup Palma in early April, and now Hyeres.

  • New Zealand continues to lead in the 49er and Women’s 470 at ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres Regatta where over 1100 of the world’s best Olympic campaigners are competing. Kiwis also occupy second place in the 49erFX and the Laser, and third place in the 49er putting the NZL Sailing Team in good shape for the medal hunt. Day four has just concluded with two days of racing remaining.
