Day 1 of racing got underway after the morning's delay to allow those unable to reach Manly due to yesterday's weather.

- This regatta was held at Pauri Lake near Wanganui on Saturday in overcast breezy conditions. Six schools took part from Okoia, Westmere, Fordell, Kaitoki, Wanganui Intermediate and St Georges. Sailing in teams of three Optimists.
- Kerikeri Cruising Club finished the Learn-to-Sail part of their season with a treasure hunt and certificates hand out after another very successful year marked by fine weather and an excellent turn out of parents and younger sailors.
