The Introduction to Match Racing Course offered by RNZYS is designed to help experienced sailors start match racing.
Over five evenings the course covers boat handling, pre-starts, set moves, basic match-racing strategy, rules and tactics.
This will be an intensive but satisfying course with candidates working towards competing in match racing events.
This course utilises the Youth Training Programme fleet of Elliot 7 metre purpose built training keelboats.
Head Coach for the course is Laurie Jury, youth Training Programme graduate, previous National Match racing Champion and Olympic Match Racing Coach.
Duration: 5 Monday evenings; 5-8pm
Dates: Mon 29th Sept, 6th, 13th & 20th Oct, 3rd Nov (10th Nov – reserve day)
Minimum Age: 15
Course fees: $200 per person / $750 per team (of four or five – weight limit 350kg)
What to bring: Life jacket, notebook, suitable Sailing clothing
