- On Friday 27 February, exactly six months from tomorrow, the Race Village for the Auckland Stopover will open for business ready to welcome the fleet contesting the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15.
- Wakatere Boating Club has registered for Bart’s Bash on Sunday 21st September. This is a global event created to support the Andrew Simpson Foundation and to celebrate the life of Andrew (aka Bart) Simpson who was tragically killed during the last Americas Cup campaign. It’s also a genuine Guinness World Record attempt for the largest sailing event in the world and Wakatere is open to any class with a centreboard.
- Five crews from Wakatere Boating Club, Kohimarama Yacht Club and French Bay Yacht Club contested the inaugural MRX Youth Pathways Regatta. The regatta has been introduced to suggest a fun and practical pathway from youth to adult sailing for our young sailors, so many of whom drop out of sailing after graduating from the youth classes.
- For the first time sailing will feature in the NZCT AIMS GAMES in 2015 after a proposal made by Yachting New Zealand was accepted by the six Trustees of one of the largest sporting events in New Zealand.

- Led by class veteran Tim - Te Guru – Bartlett and long time stalwart Russell Davis, members of the Auckland 12 foot Skiff fleet have set themselves a winter boat building project, with the end result up for grabs for anyone willing.
- The Waikawa Boating Club have just announced Lawson’s Dry Hills will be their Gold sponsor for their 2015 New Year Regatta to be held over the weekend of the 9th to 11th January.
