  • The 2012 Evolution Sails Sail Noumea race starts on Saturday 2nd June at 1400 hours from Waitamata Harbour in Auckland.  The Category 1 Offshore race is hosted by Royal Akarana Yacht Club and at the time of print, 16 yachts had entered the race.  Spectators are encouraged to

  • At the conclusion of their mid-year meetings, the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) has announced that kiteboarding will replace windsurfing at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and that the New Zealand designed MacKay FX (now 49er FX) will be the new Olympic womens’ skiff discipline.

  • The Etchell National Championships were sailed from the Royal Akarana Yacht Club April 28/29. Six races over the two race days saw both extremes of race conditions, everything from 30 + knots on the first day of sailing, and fickle light patchy on day two.
