- Four of New Zealand’s aspiring double-handed youth sailors have been getting a taste of competition on the international stage competing recently at the 420 class in Europe.

- Stewart Elder, Otago yachting stalwart and Yachting New Zealand Honour Award recipient in 2007, has passed away three weeks short of his 90th birthday. His funeral was held today and Yachting New Zealand sends condolences to Stewart’s family.
- Dave Robertson, took time from his coaching ‘day job’ turning his hand to videographer for the morning and put together a terrific little clip of the action at Auckland airport on Wednesday August 15th 2012 when New Zealand sailors brought home to Olympic medals.

- Worser Bay Boating Club, with their senior team skippered by Commodore Bridget Leppein and their youth team skippered by Adam Middleton, have emerged victorious as the winners of the 2012 Central Region Interclub Champs.
- The Wellington Spirit Sailing Team has won the 2012 Detroit Cup. In light and shifty conditions, an epic final was won by our team, who came out on top of Taylor Canfield's US Virgin Islands team 3-2.
