The 'big two' regattas for New Zealand's disabled sailors are rapidly approaching... it's time to organise transportation/ accommodation logistics for January and get your entry in! Here, we have the basics you need to know.
Kiwi Cup and Access Class National Championship
When: 24-27 January 2013
Where: Royal Akarana Yacht Club, Auckland
Who: Access 303, Liberty, SKUD 18, 2.4mR. All Ages, All Abilities
Cost: $90 Single, $180 Double

- Boats will be berthed at The Landing (Okahu Bay Marina) for the during the Nationals/Kiwi Cup
- Visiting boats have the option to be launched at Sailability Auckland compound at Westhaven Marina.
- Access SKUD 18’s will be sailed in J1 configuration as per SKUD 18 Class Rules
- Access 303’s can be sailed single or double
To be eligible to compete in this event each competitor shall be a current financial member of the NZ Access Class Association (NZACA), or the International Access Class Association, or a National Access Class Association. NZACA Membership forms are available on request via email to the Secretary at sailabilityhb@xtra.co.nz and must be returned to the Secretary no later than 15th January 2013.

Wondering what is the 'Kiwi Cup' and how do you win it?
The Kiwi Cup will be awarded to the sailor/s with the lowest score across all classes at the regatta, with no discards. It will be contested across all classes with five or more boats competing. Only sailors/crews with a disability will be eligible to compete for the Kiwi Cup (Boats with non-disabled persons on board will be ineligible)

Oceanbridge Sail Auckland is New Zealand's only ISAF Grade 1 Olympic and Paralympic classes regatta. Last year, the regatta attracted over 230 competitors from 16 countries and many of those attended the event in preparation for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.
