- Rules Forum with Doug Elder Thursday night YNZ hosted a rules forum with Doug Elder. The evening discussion was as a fantastic opportunity for the group of coaches and sailors to discuss some common rule breaches and get an insight into what the Judges are looking for when on the water.
- Emirates Team New Zealand pulled off a great last leg in race 11 of the America’s Cup match, fighting off determined Oracle attacks both up and downwind to finish 15 seconds ahead.
- The up-coming 2013 49er and 49erFX World Championships will feature five New Zealand entries including Olympic silver medallists Peter Burling and Blair Tuke; racing starts next Tuesday, 24th September and runs over six days in Marseille, France.
- Pleasant Point Yacht Club opened its 2013/2014 season on Saturday 14th of August at its new home in the South New Brighton Domain, running three races for their fleet of yachts.
- 2013 marks the 15th annual running of the Auckland On Water Boat Show (formerly the Auckland International Boat Show). Held in Auckland’s magnificent Viaduct Harbour over four days, this is New Zealand’s largest on-water boat show.
