- Javelin skiff teams from Wellington, East Coast, Manawatu, Bay of Plenty, North Harbour and Northland competed this weekend for the prestigious Sanders Cup. The Lake Taupo Yacht Club generously added a third racing day to their Mighty River Power Regatta for the Javelins to be able to hold their traditional Interprovincial Challenge.
- The 23rd Hebtro Trophy Fundraising Day will be held at Worser Bay Boating Club on Sunday 6th April 2014.
- The NZ Elliott 5.9 Association has run a successful North Island Traveller Series for several years. This has followed a proven formula and has steadily grown in numbers over the past 5 years.
- The Australian Championships for the International 2.4mR class were held over the Labour Day holiday weekend at Royal Brighton Yacht Club. Eleven 2.4mR sailors travelled from New South Wales, ACT, Tasmania and New Zealand for the event. Australia and New Zealands’ representatives at the 2012 Paralympic Games, Matt Bugg (TAS) and Paul Francis (NZL), were competing as part of their preparations for Rio in 2016.
- This weekend at Wakatere Boating Club, the last of the 6-regatta Kendall Cup Series for 2013/14 took place in sunny, light and at times flukey conditions.
- The Notice of Race, Entry Form and Class Rules for the inaugural One Ton Revisited event, in Auckland in February/March 2015 are now available.
- The NZL Sailing Team are gearing up for the northern hemisphere season with the entire sailing team flying to Europe over coming weeks and a container of equipment already docked in Barcelona. Over the coming six months the calendar is full of Olympic class sailing regattas building towards the pinnacle event of the year – the ISAF Sailing World Championships, being raced off Santander, Spain in September.
- Auckland Secondary Schools Fleet Racing Regatta Thurs 6th & Fri 7th March at Wakatere. This regatta is organised and run by ASB College Sport for sailors in school years 9 -13.
- It’s time to enter your crew in the 2014 NZ Women’s Keelboat National Championships which will be held on the 5th & 6th April 2014 and will be run by the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron.
