  • Racing continued for the NZL Sailing Team in France today at ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres Regatta where our 2012 Olympic medallist crews hit their stride. On the skiff course Peter Burling and Blair Tuke were showing everyone else how it’s done, while in the Women’s 470 Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie have made major gains on the leader-board.

  • ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres Regatta is underway for 2015 and the NZL Sailing Team has opened well, particularly in the Finn and 49er classes. The new look ISAF Sailing World Cup format, debuting here in Hyeres, sees all fleets restricted to a maximum of 40 boats featuring only the best sailors. Everyone has just four days of competition to make the top ten and entry to their medal race scheduled for day five, Sunday 26 April.

  • Auckland Grammar School has won the 2015 Secondary Schools Team Sailing National Championships, hosted by Lake Taupo Yacht Club (13-15 April) after placing second at last year’s event. Previous long-time winner, Kerikeri High School came second, ahead of Marlborough Boys’ College.

  • Today marks two years to go until the World Masters Games 2017 kicks off in Auckland. It will be the day that 25000 masters athletes come together from all over the world to march in the opening ceremony on 21 April 2017.

  • Over the past 18 months, the CIORC committee has undertaken a full review of PHRF and as a result the following changes have been implemented for the upcoming 2015-16 season. CIORC are confident that these changes will make PHRF more user-friendly, will increase PHRF fleets and ensure fairer racing. These changes will take effect from 1st June 2015.
