Bay of Islands Sailing Week regatta - which started with registration yesterday - Tuesday 26th January - is underway.
ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami got underway today where a 19-strong contingent of kiwi sailors are competing on Biscayne Bay in the second regatta of the 2016 ISAF Sailing World Cup series.

Wellington again turned it on for the final day of the 2016 Woodridge Homes NZ Laser Nationals at Muritai Yacht Club in Wellington. A light breeze greeted the 92 sailors as they arrived at the club and some of us were led to believe that the local Masters “we don’t do Light” was a Wellington myth.

With the calendar switched to an Olympic year, the intensity on the water at the 2016 Sailing World Cup Miami presented by Sunbrella is a match for the famously bright South Florida sun. In less than 200 days, many of the nearly 800 sailors gathered in Coconut Grove this week will walk in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games.
So, yes, it is now 2016, less than seven months until a little regatta in August that we have been looking forward to for the last three years… Time moves rather quickly, and hopefully so do we!
