Celebrate Sailing: Get your club to sign up for Bart’s Bash

Issue date

Do you want to take part in a global celebration of sailing, get back out on the water after a long winter, or simply to help raise funds and awareness for disabled sailing? Then get your club on board for Bart’s Bash this year!

Bart’s Bash will take place across two days: the 17th and 18th September. Since Bart’s Bash started in 2014 the event has seen over 45,000 sailors participate across 62 countries.

What’s involved? Your club can put on a fun race, or if there is one already scheduled, use that. Everyone’s results are collected via the Bart’s Bash website and entered into a global table of handicap results.

There is no fee the event or for taking part in the race, but if individual sailors truly want to feel you have been part of the big picture we hope you will want to make a donation to be a part of it. Of course, everyone can make it so much more than that - you and your club can raise more money for the charity through sponsorship or other events on the day.

It is a global celebration of sailing, with an opportunity to raise money to support disabled sailing. Money raised in New Zealand will go back into New Zealand programmes.

So far Wakatere Boating Club and the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron are signed up.

Sign up for clubs is fast and easy and can be done here http://www.bartsbash.com/venue-registration.
