How did you get into sailing
I don't really know how I got into sailing exactly. I've just been around it my whole life.
What is your favourite food after a long day on the water?
Anything as long as there's lots of it!
Where is your favourite place to sail?
Anywhere with a bit of breeze and some mates to sail with.
What is your favourite thing to do when not sailing?
Hanging out with mates in the outdoors, likely on the water or in the bush.
Who are your role models?
My mum and my dad because they are both always working extremely hard and are always supporting me and my life in any way it might go.
What is the best thing about sailing your youth class boat?
The best thing about the ILCA 6 is that it rewards hard work and if you want to be the best you can't hide from it, there's no faking it.
How will you prepare for the youth sailing world championships?
I am due to fly out to Europe for the European part of my preparations, with the domestic part coming to a close. I will be going to Kiel Week in Germany and a Europa Cup before finally getting to Garda with the rest of the team.
What are your sailing career goals?
I would like to take my sailing to the highest level possible and represent the country on the world stage.
What was the proudest moment of your sailing to date?
My proudest moment would be winning the youth trials and all of the time and effort that it represents, also showing people that if you work hard for what you want you can achieve big things - even if you come from Dunedin.
