New Zealander Neville Crichton has been named a Companion to the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and yachting.

The Chilean Navy Training Ship “Esmeralda” arrived in Wellington on Tuesday June 5th for just a short five day visit so  be sure to take up some great opportunities to see the boat and to meet the crew.

This time of year the cruisers of Naval Point Club Lyttelton are heading for the South Pacific.

At 20:59:50 hours ZST on Tuesday 5 June 2012, the Orma 60 Team Vodafone Sailing, skipped by Simon Hull, crossed the finish line in Noumea, New Caledonia to set a new multihull race record in the Evolution Sails Sail Noumea race.

The ISAF Sailing World Cup regatta Skandia Sail for Gold is underway at the Weymouth Olympic Sailing venue, and after yesterday’s light winds, racing is now back on schedule and kiwi talent is starting to show through.

Fighting back from an OCS (early start penalty) in the first race of the regatta, Rob Coutts secured the 2012 World Championship for New Zealand in the Grand Masters division, and sixth overall.

After four days of racing in Korea FMJ have ended up 6th in the Korea Match Cup, going down in the quarter finals to defending champion Bjorn Hansen of Sweden.

At the time of sending- New Zealander Conrad Coleman and crew Cavanough are only approximately 45 Nm from the final finish line of the 30,000 mile circumnavigation race, in Les Sables d’Olonne, France.
