New Zealand has won a mass of medals at the RYA Youth National Championships Regatta which wrapped up on Friday 18th April in Weymouth, UK. The contingent of young kiwis collected one gold, two silver and two bronze medals across the range of skiff, double-handed and single-handed classes.

Day three of the Toyota National Optimist Championships started well with a 10-12 knot breeze but as predicted the breeze built throughout the morning and by lunchtime the skies darkened and we were treated to an intense squall of rain and wind peaking at 36 knots.

Kerikeri Cruising Club finished the Learn-to-Sail part of their season with a treasure hunt and certificates hand out after another very successful year marked by fine weather and an excellent turn out of parents and younger sailors.

New Zealand Team Sailing has their major annual regatta starting on the 27th of April, the second week of the Secondary School holidays.

This regatta was held at Pauri Lake near Wanganui on Saturday in overcast breezy conditions. Six schools took part from Okoia, Westmere, Fordell, Kaitoki, Wanganui Intermediate and St Georges. Sailing in teams of three Optimists.

A Multihull Yacht Club initiative, the recent New Zealand Multilhull Boat Show held in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour was a great success and the Club extends its thanks to all those who supported the day…

Yachting New Zealand believes that the establishment of a centralised world class National Sailing Centre will be an asset to Auckland and New Zealand and we are continuing to work towards this objective.

Following the recent double gold medal success at ISAF Sailing World Cup Palma the NZL Sailing Team are now less than a week away from the start of racing at the next ISAF World Cup Regatta in Hyeres, France.
