At the end of Bank Road just out of Te Awamutu you will find a small rural sailing club situated on the shores of Lake Ngaroto. This is the home of the Ngaroto sailing Club… a small club, but when it comes to hosting regattas and hospitality, it punches well above its weight.

New Zealand has won gold and silver at Sailing World Cup Regatta with young crew Logan Dunning Beck and Jack Simpson taking the 49er victory and their best ever international performance.

Alexandra Maloney and Molly Meech will go to Rio 2016 in less than two months buoyed by a superb medal race win and a silver medal in the 49erFX class. 

A strong penultimate day performance means New Zealand is well placed for medals in the 49er and 49erFX events going into the final day of 2016 Weymouth Sailing World Cup Regatta with just the medal race remaining.

Karori's Sarah Dunckley has won the Hansa Liberty Class world competition in Medemblik, Holland.

In May Yachting New Zealand announced collectively with the New Zealand Olympic Committee, that a team of 12 sailors had been selected to represent New Zealand in seven events at Rio 2016.

Yachting New Zealand will be running seminars around the country over the winter to up skill our Race Officials. These seminars are free for all Yachting New Zealand affiliated Yacht Club members to attend.

A reminder that applications to hold a National Championship Regatta in the upcoming season are due by the 30th June 2016.
