The NZMYC team is stoked to launch the PIC Insurance Brokers Coastal Classic for 2016. Whether you consider the 119nm race to Russell a sprint or a marathon, it's the 34th time that sailors have come together with the NZMYC to race up the coast at Labour Weekend. This year we have a new website, a new solo division, and we welcome back all returning competitors, new ones, and our fantastic family of sponsors, including PIC Insurance Brokers, that come together to make the event possible. Entries will open soon and we are looking forward to counting down to 21 October with you.

Plenty of breeze was forecast for the NZ Rigging 60, Race 1 of the Safety at Sea Triple series run by SSANZ on Saturday 9 July.

New Zealand, along with a number of other countries, is required to change some maritime VHF repeater channels to make space for newly allocated international services for ship tracking and data services.

Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive following the recent 2016 Commodores’ Conference.

Olympic Sailing Team Auckland Media Opportunity - 26 July

A nine-strong group New Zealand’s 2016 Olympic Sailing Team will be in Auckland for a media opportunity on Tuesday 26 July.

The New Zealand Match Racing Championships are to be held at the RNZYS from the 12th – 16th of October this year, and the first 13 entries have been decided on.

Do you want to take part in a global celebration of sailing, get back out on the water after a long winter, or simply to help raise funds and awareness for disabled sailing? Then get your club on board for Bart’s Bash this year!

Yachting New Zealand is looking to employ two qualified sailing instructors for the 2016/2017 Volvo Sailing…Have a Go! programme. The Central Region involves travel from Waikato to Wellington. The Southern Region covers the whole South Island. This is a contract position commencing late September 2015 and continuing through until mid-April 2016.
