Yachting New Zealand (YNZ) understands that Ministry of Fisheries (MFISH) intends to propose a new aquaculture zone for fin fish farming of 300 hectares, 10 kilometres off the Western coast of the Coromandel Peninsula (Proposal).

While YNZ is aware that these rules will be applied reasonably by local authorities, YNZ feels it is still important to highlight areas of concern in the wording of the proposed bylaws and any unintended consequences.
