  • As unique British tall ship, Lord Nelson, makes a splash on her inaugural visit to New Zealand, two Kiwis are getting ready to set sail on the experience of a lifetime. An anonymous New Zealand benefactor has paid for 16-year-old blind student Jesse Mellish from Te Puke in the Bay of Plenty to sail on the first of the four in-country voyages on board the ship owned and operated by UK charity, the Jubilee Sailing Trust, and ‘excited’ doesn't come close to describing how the teenager is feeling about her up-coming adventure.

  • New Zealand’s only ISAF 100 Point regatta in 2014 is pleased to again offer a travel subsidy to help Kiwi sailors from outside the Auckland Region take part in this world class event. New for this year, the offering has been extended past the Olympic and Paralympic classes, now including the Youth classes too.

  • Both NZL Sailing Team crews competing at the opening regatta of the 2013-14 ISAF Sailing World Cup series for Olympic class sailors have medalled with Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie taking gold in the Women’s 470. Paul Snow-Hansen and Dan Willcox secured bronze in the Men’s 470.
