- High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) has announced today that Yachting New Zealand’s High Performance Programme will receive a financial boost in the two years leading into the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
- The Volvo Sailing… Have a Go! programme gives people the opportunity to experience the thrills and spills of sailing in a safe and well managed environment and most importantly, have fun! The programme has teamed up with the 2015 Auckland Volvo Ocean Race Stop Over with race village visitors having the opportunity to sail one of four Topper Omega yachts within the Race Village, and learn the basics, all for free!
- The Notice of Race for the 2015 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship that will be held in Langkawi, Malaysia from 27 December 2015 to 3 January 2016 has been released.
- A new range of interactive cruising guide apps for iPad has just been launched by the Island Cruising Association (ICA). The Sail Fiji cruising guides are the first of their kind – a new breed of up-to-date digital navigational aids that allow blue water sailors to “Cruise with Confidence”.
- RNZYS Youth Training Programme are holding a reunion in January 2015 and invite all sailors, Youth Training Program members and non-members alike to get together early in the new year for a celebratory Cocktail Party on Saturday 31 January.
- 31 year old kiwi Conrad Colman has been appointed co-skipper of the IMOCA 60 Spirit of Hungary set to depart Barcelona, Spain on 31 December in the Barcelona World Race.
- It has been announced that the 2016 World University Sailing Championship is to be held in Perth.
