- It may be the last world championship of 2014, but it is certainly not the least. The 2014 OK Dinghy World Championship opens at Black Rock Yacht Club on Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne, Australia, on December 28th and so far there are around 80 entries, with perhaps a few more before registration closes.
- Together Yachting New Zealand and Volvo Cars New Zealand want to nurture and grow the grass roots of our sport, and it’s this motivation that has seen a small group of Volvo dealerships assist Yachting New Zealand’s Regional Support Officers further extending the work being done at Club level.

- A very rare cannon belonging to the Royal Akarana Yacht Club has been stolen.
- New Zealand athletes are being warned that tough new anti-doping rules come into force from 1 January, 2015. The rules will see those who intentionally cheat by using performance enhancing drugs or methods face longer bans from all sport.
- Once again a good number of boats turned out for Wairoa Yacht Club’s Wairoa River Regatta. The regatta included the East Coast Championships for Lasers, P Class and the Optimist green fleet.
- Hamilton Yacht Club is once again running it's Optisail Green Fleet and Youth Sail Training Camp between 19 - 22 January 2015 on Lake Rotoroa, Innes Common, Hamilton.
