It was a big day at 2015 Rio Test Event on now in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with racing in all ten Olympic events being contested this week.
New Zealand has the early lead in the Nacra 17 class after Gemma Jones and Jason Saunders started the regatta with a couple of great races. 49erFX crew Alexandra Maloney and Molly Meech had a similar day with two excellent results from their three races to hold 2nd overall, while in the 49er Peter Burling and Blair Tuke are in 3rd overall.

The New Zealand team has made a brilliant start over the opening two days at the 2015 ZHIK 29er World Championships underway now in Pwllheli, Wales.
Eligible sailors can now register for the 2015 South Island Optimist Coaching Clinic to be held at the YMCA Wainui Camp, Akaroa from 17 – 21 December this year.
The clinic is a four-day course and will be the premier coaching clinic for Open Optimist Sailors in the South Island this summer. Up to 30 spaces are available for financial members of NZIODA.
New Zealand blind sailors are listed as World Sailing Champions, and to date have won 10 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in 6 previous World Blind Sailing Championships.
