The Canterbury Yacht & Motor Boat Club, which is now part of Naval Point Club Lyttelton, are seeking information from past and present members as they gear up for next year's centenary.
The CYMBC was formed November 1921 to enable a representative to be sent to Dunedin in 1922 to challenge for the Sanders Memorial Cup.
In 2001, CYMBC and Banks Peninsula Cruising Club amalgamated to form Naval Point Club Lyttelton, which is now the sport's biggest club in the South Island.
They're putting together a publication to celebrate the centenary and are seeking the following:
- Photos from 1921-45, particularly of buildings and facilities used by the Lyttelton club in this period.
- Families of three or more generations of club members. They presently have about eight.
- Information to put together a list of CYMBC, national champions, Olympic competitors and world championship competitors
