Any yacht and boating clubs operating under alert level 2 or 3 are reminded they need to have a copy of the QR code for the facility displayed in a prominent position by 11.59pm tomorrow (August 19).
It is now mandatory for any providers open at alert level 2 or 3 to display the official New Zealand Covid tracer QR code in a place at or near the main entrance to their workplace. This will help prevent the spread of Covid-19 in New Zealand by supporting faster contact tracing.

A provider can only open if they are able to meet the WorkSafe Guidelines for Covid-19 and adhere to the Covid-19 Public Health Response Act 2020, Covid-19 Public Health Response (alert levels 3 and 2) Order 2020 and any other legal requirements at alert level 2 and 3.
Clubs can open under level 3 as long as they meet the WorkSafe guidelines but on-water activities are not allowed under the government guidelines.
The Ministry of Health has created a tracing app — NZ COVID Tracer. This app works by scanning a QR code on a poster at participating businesses. The app then keeps track of where someone has scanned so they know where they have been.
All yacht and boating clubs should display the QR code now, even if they aren't officially open, to ensure they capture anyone who visits the club for anything from maintenance to collecting boats.
