The 2014 420 National Championship concluded on 16th March Evans Bay, Wellington with Olivia Mackay and Abby Goodwin (Napier Sailing Club) returning to re win their 2013 National title, Cameron Moss and Taylor Balogh (Naval Point Club Lyttleton) 2nd and Sam Barnett and Zac Merton (Tauranga Yacht & Powerboat Club) 3rd also taking out the selection for the 2014 NZL Yachting Trust Youth Team.

Its’ been an exciting couple of years for the New Zealand Multihull Yacht Club, the development of foils from the America’s cup is coming down into the classes, we are starting to see a whole range foiling systems and designs.

Currently writing from Barcelona, Spain… We arrived yesterday after a rather long (but most exciting flight) – the reason for this unusual excitement being the fact that we somehow managed to get a free upgrade to business class for our Dubai-Barcelona leg!! In one month’s time, from 19 to 26 April 2014, the town of Hyères will be hosting the much awaited final leg of the ISAF world circuit, the Sailing World Cup Hyères – Toulon Provence Mediterranean. The only French leg of the Sailing World Cup, organised by the French Sailing Federation (FFV), is proud to welcome more than sixty delegations. With more than 600 boats and almost one thousand crew members, the competition will be intense and it promises to be a great show.

Yachting New Zealand is delighted to announce the selection of twelve young sailors to represent New Zealand at the prestigious 2014 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship Regatta. Tavira, on the south west coast of Portugal will play host to the 2014 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship which runs from 12th – 19th July this year.

Kiwis get the chance to see the new one-design boat which will be used by all teams in the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15 when Dongfeng Race Team sail into Auckland next month.
