ISAF Long Service Medals awarded to Ralph Roberts and Jack Lloyd

Two New Zealanders were recently recognised by sailing’s international body with ISAF Long Service Medals - Ralph Roberts was awarded an ISAF Gold Medal, and Jack Lloyd was awarded an ISAF Silver Medal.

The announcement was made at the ISAF Executive Committee Meeting held in Southampton, UK where Ralph was one of six to be awarded the gold medal. The ISAF Long Service Medals are presented in recognition of service to the International Sailing Federation.

Gold Medals are awarded to retiring members of the Executive Committee, long-serving Chairmen of ISAF Committees who have made a significant contribution to the work of the Federation and individuals who have contributed to the development of the Federation in a remarkable way.

Silver Medals are awarded to retiring Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of ISAF Committees and Sub-committees, members of the ISAF Council and individuals who have contributed in a significant way to the success of the Federation and long-serving members of ISAF Committees.

Other New Zealanders to receive ISAF Long Service Gold Medals in the past include Joe Butterfield (2008) and Adrienne Greenwood (2008), while Silver Medals have been awarded to John Faire (1990), Richard Endean (1998) and David Cook (2004).
