ISA 2022 - Complying with the Act once you have reregistered

So you've updated your constitution and re-registered under the new Act. Now what?

There are a few things you need to do to make sure you are compliant with the Act.

1. Your society's officers must:

  1. Consent in writing to be an officer, and
  2. Certify that they are not disqualified.

You can use this form which you need to keep with the society's records. https://is-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz/assets/incorporated-societies/2022-act/template-is22-cco-officer-consent-and-certificate.pdf

2. You will need to store the following society records:

  1. Up to date membership details in a Register of Members
  2. Conflict of interest details for officers in an Interests Register
  3. Accounting Records (annual accounts must be filed with the Registrar)
  4. Minutes of committee meetings, AGMs and any other General Meetings

More information on the records you should keep is available here: https://is-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz/help-centre/running-your-incorporated-society/records-you-should-keep/
