Howick Sailing Club are running an annual autumn sailing series throughout the month of May.
The series will be raced on Sunday afternoons from 1pm with prizegiving following racing on May 28. It will be open to all centreboard dinghies and catamaran classes - Optimist green, Optimist open, P-Class, Starling, Laser, Paper Tiger other catamarans (open catamarans) and other centreboard dinghies (open fleet).
Register online here. Entry fees are $15/day or $50 for the series.

Race 1 … 1pm Sunday 7th May
Race 2 … 1pm Sunday 14th May
Race 3 … 1pm Sunday 21st May
Race 4 … 1pm Sunday 28th May
Daily registration opens from 11.30am with briefing at 12.15pm.
HSC Autumn Series Optimist and Starling Coaching Clinics
Howick Sailing Club and Moore Water Exposure are pleased to announce an autumn coaching programme in conjunction with the HSC autumn series. This programme caters for all levels of sailors in either the Optimist or the Starling class (you must have your own boat or access to a boat).
Optimists: Sunday 14th and 28th May, Coach – Ellie Copeland 9am-noon followed by race coaching support in the autumn series racing. Cost $100 (includes autumn series entry fees)
Starlings: Sunday 7th, 14th and 28th May, Coach – Gareth Moore 9am-noon followed by race coaching support in the autumn series racing. Cost $150 (includes autumn series entry fees)
There will be two fantastic coaches for sailors to learn off.
Gareth Moore is a former Starling national champion who has been coaching for more than seven years and has worked with a number of sailors and clubs across Auckland and New Zealand. He is also Yachting New Zealand coach development manager,
Ellie Copeland is a recent Aon Fast Track sailor in the 49erFX. Ellie has been to multiple international regattas and brings a wealth of knowledge and fun to the programme.
