Issue date

New Zealand's success in international yachting had its roots in the Melbourne Olympic Games in 1956 when Peter Mander and Jack Cropp won the 12-metre Sharpie class. Click on the link to see pictures of the pair (with Mander at the tiller) arriving back after the final race on December 5 1956; a closeup of the two on their boat, Jest; the victory ceremony and Jack Cropp at home five years ago. https://www.facebook.com/nzsportshalloffame/
