Entry is now open for the 2016 Yachting New Zealand Youth Trials, the event that will determine which of New Zealand’s promising, young sailors get the chance of a lifetime to compete at the prestigious 2016 World Sailing Youth Championships on home waters.
The 2016 Youth Trials run from 4-8 October and will be hosted by the Gulf Harbour Yacht Club. Attendance is expected to be high and interested sailors are encouraged to enter now - the deadline is Monday 26 September.
Classes being sailed include 29er, 420, Laser Radial and RS:X 8.5 and sailors must be under 19 years of age on 31 December 2016.
The 2016 World Sailing Youth Championships on from 14-20 December is expected to attract around 400 young sailors from up to 70 nations to Auckland and bring benefit to the local community and to young sailors throughout New Zealand. Torbay Sailing Club on Auckland’s North Shore will host the event.
