NZL Sailing Team Laser Sailors Andy Maloney and Sam Meech are currently sailing at the last of the 2011/2012 ISAF Sailing World Cup regattas at Kiel, Germany, and will be heading into the final medal races overnight Wednesday, NZT.
Andy Maloney is currently in 3rd place overall with 17 points on his score card, while the two boats ahead are local German sailors tied on 9 points each.
Sam Meech is not far behind, in 6th place overall with 28 points, also tied in points with the fifth placed Ryan Palk of Australia.
It’s been a regatta of light winds, with several races being missed due to lack of wind. Andy and Sam are the only two NZL Sailing Team members at this event.
