Gautrey has established himself in the international Laser fleet after showing plenty of promise as a youth sailor.
Top 10 finishes at several big international regattas over the past 18 months have seen the 25-year-old move up the ILCA 7 ranks, since his breakthrough third place at the 2019 world championships in Japan.
In April he won silver at the Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma de Mallorca, Spain - a World Cup event and the first top international competition of the European season.
As a junior, Gautrey won silver in the Laser Radial at the 2015 youth sailing world championships in Langkawi, Malaysia.
He started 2023 with fourth place at Sail Melbourne in January and finished runner-up to Tom Saunders at this year's Oceanbridge NZL Sailing Regatta - before his success in Spain.
