2012 MERC Lecture Series starts soon

The Sir Peter Blake MERC 2012 “Sea Around Us” Winter Lecture Series are about to begin again.

These extremely popular and informative lectures have been running now for 19 consecutive years. All proceeds from these lectures go towards the “Don and Mary St Clare Brown Fund for Disadvantaged Children.

Lectures run nearly every Friday night from June 8th – August 17th at 1930hrs

Adults are $6 or a season ticket is $40.

There are ten lectures... and some noteworthy ones include:
     June 8th- Our Journey Across the Ditch- Team Gallagher, First Team to row across the Tasman Sea. A story of endurance and courage
     July 6th - An expedition to Campbell Island 1971 – 1973. Adventures while studying endangered wildlife.
     July 27th - The Science of Sailing - How it emulates the flight of the albatross.
     August 17th- Destination Gold – Coaching a sailor to the 2012 Olympics.
