Mercury Bay Boating Club was hoisted off the water's edge and shifted 25m inland on Wednesday last week during a twilight keelboat race which saw the finish line, usually formed by the building itself, move for the first time.

Glen and Beverly Church of Stewarts Gully Sailing Club received their Yachting New Zealand Service Award in a special presentation held at their club this month. 

The first entries have been received for the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC), and Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) hosted inaugural Sydney to Auckland Ocean Race, due to start on Saturday, 7 October 2023, at 1pm.  

An initiative for newcomers to the ILCA6 National Championships has seen fleet numbers soar with a strong showing of female and youth sailors competing in the Hauraki Gulf this week. 

The storm surge which has thrown Mercury Bay Boating Club members into a crisis state is posing a stark reminder to all water-front yacht clubs of the geographic risks they could come up against too.
