  • Wellington Ocean Sports will be running a Coastal Medic course over the weekend of 30 and 31 August. This course offers participants the qualification of Coastguard Boating Education Service Marine Medic (Coastal), NZQA units 6400, 6401, 6402 and Maritime New Zealand commercial first aid. It should be a prerequisite for anyone involved in ocean sports.

  • Over 200 sailors in their 29ers hit Lake Ontario for a wet and windy start to the 2014 29er Worlds. The rain never let up but brought lots of breeze in the 20 knot range.

  • Steinhuder Meer produced its best for the second day of racing at the OK Dinghy European Championship with two races held in glorious sunshine, with wall to wall blue skies and 10-12 knots of warm wind. Defending champion Bo Petersen (DEN) has taken the lead from Andre Budzien (GER) and Greg Wilcox (NZL). Race wins went to Budzien, Jorgen Svendsen (DEN), Jorgen Lindhardtsen (DEN) and Jim Hunt (GBR).
