Yachting New Zealand is proud to announce that we have partnered with Melanoma New Zealand as our official charity to help raise awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention of melanoma among our sailing community.

Yachting New Zealand is urging Auckland yachties and boaties to avoid racing on the Waitematā Harbour this weekend, as raw wastewater continues to pour into it at an unprecedented rate following the collapse of a sewerage pipe in Parnell.

The start of the New Zealand youth championships has been postponed to Sunday and the regatta moved to Murrays Bay Sailing Club, following the closure of beaches due to wastewater flowing into the Waitematā Harbour.

Celia Willison and her Edge Women’s Match team have narrowly missed out on the 2023 match racing world tour title after finishing sixth at the season-ending KDY Women’s Match Race in Denmark at the weekend.

Like many of the clubs and class associations around the country, the team at Yachting New Zealand have spent a chunk of the winter months reflecting on the season that’s been and how we can do things better once the new season starts.
