- Peter Burling and Blair Tuke ended the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander, Spain by winning the medal race in front of a massive crowd returning ashore to be presented their 49er crown which was in the bag before today’s race.
- The 2014 International Federation for Disabled Sailing World championships were held in Halifax, Canada, from the 15th until the 24th of August.
- ‘Sailability’ at Seaview, Wellington was recently nominated for, and won the ‘Sports and Leisure’ category for the Hutt City Wellington Airport Awards.
- Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie have won silver at the 2014 Women’s 470 World Championships, relinquishing their title to Lara Vadlau and Jolanta Ogar of Austria in today’s light wind medal race in Santander, Spain.
