Day two of racing has just wrapped up at the 2015 470 World Champs underway now in Haifa, Italy featuring both NZL Sailing Team 470 crews. Both managed to improve their overall standing after today’s racing, despite the day being described as patchy and challenging.
Peter Burling and Blair Tuke have been named as finalists for 2015 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year. The winner will be announced on 10 November at the Award Ceremony in Sanya, China.
Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Youth Training Programme Graduate Adam Minoprio, is a past ISAF Match Racing World Champion on the 2009 World Match Racing Tour but hasn’t sailed a regatta this year. Today he made an emphatic statement on his return to the helm.

Hosted at the fabulous new Murrays Bay Sailing Club house with racing off the east coast bays the regatta attracted the nation’s best campaigners in the youth classes all vying for selection into the 2015 NZL Yachting Trust Youth Team.
Otis Horne (19), a sailor from Hastings, is a finalist in the Courage in Sport category in the 2015 Attitude Awards. The national awards celebrate the excellence and achievements of Kiwis with a disability.
