With the end of the school year comes the end of the Volvo Sailing…Have a Go! programme for term 4, and what a successful term it has been! Yachting New Zealand’s national participation initiative has given 1435 students from 47 schools across the country an opportunity to experience sailing.

In July this year, the General Assembly of the International 420 Class Association (held in Karatsu, Japan), announced that the Fremantle Sailing Club had won the bid to host the 2017 International 420 Class World, Ladies World and U17 World Championships.

The Optimist Auckland NZIODA Championship will be hosted by Maraetai Sailing Club from Saturday 30th January to Sunday 1st February 2016. The regatta also includes the Auckland Champs for the Starling, P-Class and Rs Feva classes, promising a great weekend of sailing with approx. 240 boats expected.
